    Patenting of therapeutic antibodies – An update on US and EPO practiceAntibodies constitute a very important class of drugs and diagnostic tools. A lot has happened since the early days of isolating antibodies from serum or from hybridoma. Today sophisticated methods are used in antibody discovery and these methods lead with great likelihood to identification of an antibody lead. These advances in antibody discovery have made it more challenging to obtain patent protection for new antibodies in some countries.
